About Us

We're Local Eats, and we've been a premier convenience store and cafe in Palmyra, VA, since 2017. We're female-owned and locally-operated, specializing in local goods, fresh food, vegan options, and farm-to-table cafe dishes. We offer a great selection of sandwiches, chips, drinks, local products, produce, groceries, wine, beer, baked goods, fresh eggs, meat, and much more. We're looking forward to partnering with Scottsville, Lake Monticello, and Charlottesville consumers to continue to offer delicious vegetarian and gluten free options. Stopped by Local Eats on the way to a local cemetery. I knew they sold a locally made tomato sauce that we wanted to try, and the selection of sandwiches included some vegan ones. The sandwich was a tasty wrap that I would definitely want to buy again. Helpful staff and lots of interesting produce and goods to look at while I waited for carryout.

My husband and I ate at Local Eats 2 weeks ago. It's a real gem! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the food is scrumptious. The dishes are made with fresh, mostly local ingredients by a capable and creative chef. My husband had the ranchturkey panini and I had the Nu-Beginnings sandwich (an amped-up BLT with turkey and avocado aioli. The back section of Local Eats has food and other items from over 70 local vendors - jams, teas, fresh produce, lotions, soaps, etc. You're sure to find something to take home with you!

This place is fantastic! I have a lot of severe food allergies, and not only were the staff able to accommodate my allergies, they also had fantastic communication so I knew exactly what steps were being taken to prepare my food safely and avoid any risks of cross contamination. This is the safest I have ever felt eating out somewhere. I also bought some amazing dairy free ice cream here, so exciting! Thank you for the great experience!!!
